Inspired By Nature...

It is a foggy morning here in Portland. As I sit facing the window, I can easily daydream myself into a forest with thick mist clinging to the tree branches. Momentarily I am a bird perched with my beak tucked securely under one wing...delightful. So let's see what the Design Style Guide can do for my fantasy...

The brilliant blues of this "What A Hoot" pillow cover from Sun2Create add a retro touch to my reverie. Measures 12x16" / priced at $14

A refinished chair from Vintage Renewal - a beautiful combo of crisp white linen and a vintage floral pattern with appliqued birds up the back. Perfect for daydreaming and priced at $480.

Speaking of fantasy - a digital collage from Blame The Moon, combines original illustration, photography and digital painting. Print measures 8x10" / priced at $18

How about a Fancy Scrolled Tree With Birds vinyl wall decal from Chuck E Byrd Wall Art - no need to tuck under a wing in the warmth of your own living room! Measures 12x20" / priced at $24.95

This "Tattoo-Bluebird Sphere" vase from One-off Pottery and Modern Ceramics can come to roost easily just about anywhere in your home. Measures 3.4" tall / priced at $50

Ah, here I am, full circle, back outside in the chilly morning mist. At least I have some company in this original acrylic painting titled "Waiting In Moonlight" from Snapdragon Studios. Measures 24x30" / priced at $450

Elegant AND affordable wall art

I can't say enough about my satisfaction with DaliDecals. They are a member of Design Style Guide under BadassDecals but it's the same company. They are a JOY to work with. I recently purchased several different patterns from them along with two from a different decal company within the Etsy stores. The difference in quality was amazing. DaliDecals won...hands down! They have a huge selection to choose from and will work quickly on commission ideas that the homeowner may have.
My story.....I had a large brunch and was in a budget crunch. I needed wall art for several walls. We live in a smaller cottage style home where wall space is at a premium. I ordered the "signature" design, the branch limb featured in their logo above and put it up in my living room. I used the flowers for my very narrow staircase and used another paisley design for above my guest bedroom bed. I'm always leery of hanging things above a headboard, for fear it may fall on a guest! This LOVELY paisley design was large, the correct size, came in every color imaginable and was shipped very fast. So, if you're like me, and need some fresh, high quality wall art that lives up to its name, please visit DaliDecals. I have a custom order in at the moment so this will make my fourth or fifth purchase from them! Visit their shop for some beautiful eye candy! With gratitude, Laurie B.

Interview with ShaNickers Wall Decals

Who are you?
I am Shannon Lynn Jernigan, owner and creator of ShaNickers Wall Decals and More

Where are you located?

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

What do you create?

Beautiful unique self-stick wall murals and decals, paitings, artwork, and unique home décor items.

Where do you sell your creations?

Etsy: www.shanon1972.etsy.com

Ebay: www.shenanigansawesomestuff.com

Dawanda: http://en.dawanda.com/shop/shanon1972

Where do you create?

I have a little area in my home that acts as a studio. I create things on my computer and by hand in my studio. I also sometimes work on my patio..

What inspires you?

I will get inspiration from everyday things that most people would not look twice at. I look for inspiration when I am driving down the road walking in my neighborhood, watching television, and looking through magazines. I will see an image that reminds me of something, and immediately go and make something that brings it to life!

Is your Etsy shop a full-time job, part-time job, or hobby?

I recently resigned from my job as an interior designer. ShaNickers is now a full time operation for me—yay!

What type of marketing is the most effective for you?

Getting on blogs and network promotions.

What do you do when you are not creating?

Hate to say it, but I’m a couch potato.. so when I am not creating, marketing, or cleaning, I am most likely watching TV.

What are your goals?

Short Term—to open up a physical storefront. Long Term-- to make ShaNickers a worldwide recognizable name that everyone knows.
