Things to Brighten Your Home in the New Year

After the holiday season my home always seems so, well, for lack of better words-blah. Once the Christmas tree is put away and all of the shiny things are stored in their respective boxes I always feel like my house is so boring. If any of you are feeling the same way I have found some perfect ways to brighten your home.

This photograph from ara133photography's shop is such a beautiful shade of blue that is would certainly brighten any space. If you have a neighborhood association that may look down upon you painting your own door such a gorgeous shade, I suggest you do the next best thing and check out ara133's shop: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=18384370.

This painting from Chaanda's shop has such amazing colors that it immediately caught my eye. It is a part of a series that she has done and it can be found at: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10588360

If you don't have a green thumb, here is a wonderful way to bring a colorful bouquet into any room. This piece is from reniebritenbucher's shop and can be found at: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_8&listing_id=19409796.

I might just have to buy the blue door. Ah, if I didn't have a homeowners association...
