Shabby Chic ?

Shabby Chic! What is it?

According to Wikipedia:
"The style started in Great Britain and evokes the type of decoration found in large country houses where there are worn and faded old sofas and curtains, old paintwork and unassuming 'good' taste. The end result of shabby chic is to achieve an elegant overall effect, as opposed to the sentimentally cute Pop-Victorian"

This lovely look of chintz and unassuming good taste can be found in items, hand-created by Design Style artists! Take a look at a few of the items I've fallen in love with:

Floradorainc has a lovely variety in pillow styles. From French Country to Jungle to Shabby Chic. I fell in love with this lovely pillow that incorporates that Shabby Chic chintz look!

Piecesintime has some lovely pieces of mosaic. I love this Shabby Chic lightswitch cover. Notice the lovely use of chintz china in the design.

And speaking of mosaics, Hillspeak has an amazing array of floral chintz, broken china mosaic pieces. You can find Shabby Chic on silver, on tables and look at this lovely wall decor!

One more favorite, I have to share. This beautiful hand crafted tray. It's woven from a variety of chintz sheets and old blankets and would bring a lovely 'unassuming good taste' to any room in the house! Created by Sosorosey.
